Visma Solutions Oy trains new users effectively with Workseed

Visma Solutions Oy uses Workseed to implement financial management software and train end users. 

In this article we will present how Visma Solutions Oy makes the most of Workseed tools to improve training and skills development. 

Training has developed from individual centered online courses towards social learning and collaboration. Find out how Workseed has helped to make that happen. 

An extensive training catalog for financial management professionals

 
Visma Solutions Oy implemented the Workseed learning management system (LMS) in 2023. Since then, the Opi training portal has been created to cater to accounting firms and financial management professionals. 

Training programs have been created to support users of:

  • Netvisor
  • Fivaldi
  • Netvisor KYC

The new training portal facilitates skills development in the context where regulations and legislation is being reformed. 

At the moment, Workseed is particularly used to: 

  • create and manage an extensive catalog of training programs
  • certify competencies for accountants and payroll clerks
  • facilitating implementing new software in accounting firms
  • facilitating social learning

From online courses to certificates

 

The first goal for Workseed was to provide a better workflow for managing training. The learning management system was meant to be used to manage training courses created in collaboration with Accounting Finland (Taloushallintolaatto ry). 

Encouraged by positive user feedback, Visma Solutions Oy and Accounting Finland are expanding and deepening their cooperation. As a completely new initiative, Visma Solutions Oy is implementing a new Payroll Specialist training program, in which participants learn how to use Netvisor while simultaneously gaining new substantive expertise from Accounting Finland . Learning is made visible through assignments in the Opi-Netvisor learning environment. Some of the task checks are performed automatically.

Independent online courses are an effective way to support new users in particular. However, the challenge is often that the skills acquired are not visible. Visma Solutions Oy responded to this by introducing certifications.

Certification demonstrates that the user has mastered the latest features of the software and also provides a concrete competitive advantage in the job market.

There are two Netvisor certifications: accounting and payroll. Both consist of several sub-certifications. Once all sub-areas have been completed, the user receives an official certificate, i.e., a diploma. The diploma can be shared directly from Workseed to your LinkedIn profile—or, if you prefer, printed out and displayed on your office wall.

Social learning to support the implementation of Netvisor

 
The implementation of financial management software requires smooth cooperation between the customer and the supplier. However, everyday pressures, unclear responsibilities, and poorly defined processes often cause delays in the implementation of new software. 

Visma Solutions Oy’s latest innovation is integrating social learning into the Netvisor implementation phase. In practice this means that new users document their learning in the learning environment.

A Netvisor expert monitors the implementation in real time and supports the process directly on the platform with comments, tips, and instructions, for example.

Social learning is made possible by Workseed’s teamwork feature. This brings significant benefits to Visma Solutions Oy:

  • The Netvisor expert interacts with the customer’s entire implementation team rather than with individual users.
  • The guidance reaches several people at the same time and becomes more firmly rooted in everyday life.
  • On the client side, responsibility is not placed on one person. Rather, the entire implementation team can see a real-time overview of the situation and communicate directly with each other on the platform.

A flexible platform and a committed partner

 
The social learning use case was developed in close collaboration between Visma Solution Oy and Workseed Oy. The success was mainly due to smooth collaboration and easy communication.

Cooperation with Workseed’s product development and technical experts has been seen as a key success factor. Roles and communication channels were clear, and problems, support requests, and development suggestions were responded to quickly. In particular, fast response times in disruptive situations prevented challenges from escalating.
